;D
well I wanted to post one of my storys, hope you like it
The twins in the glass coffins
Long ago when our world was still young, rulers were needed for the underworld and the over world. It was decided by the higher council that Blaine Phire and Alley Kat would be the bearer of the magnificent twins as soon as they were wed. Their wedding was that of only dreams can imagine the sun was at its warmest and everyone was happy. That was also the night that Alley and Blaine realized that they were the bearers of the new god and goddess, the higher council had come to each of them in a dream and told them, and that was the day when everything when horribly wrong…
The goddess in the glass coffin
The goddess was one of the most beautiful young girls anyone had ever laid eyes on, and the god was a handsome young one at that too, but were starting with her. Phoenix Phire she was truly a wonder of nature her eyes glowed with power, a brilliant purple, which matched the rest of her, long light purple hair with black tips, and royal purple fur covering the rest of her. But little did anyone know that her life would be cursed with the devils of the underworld, for she strong and mighty would be the goddess of the underworld. This was always suited of her, cause everyone knows that the underworld dwellers have more fun than the over world, she could cast her body into different shapes at a young age that made even the bravest of fighters scared. She could breathe fire like the phoenix she was, and could turn herself ghost, she could hover in mid-air turn herself invisible and pass through objects. Yes she was surely a formidable rival at a young age, top of her class you might say. But for everyone there is always an alter ego.
The god in the glass coffin
The god we a troubled young thing he was always caught off in a daydream or mesmerized by a butterfly’s delicate wings. He mostly resembled his sister covered in different shades of purples and blacks. He was mostly quiet and gentle he wasn’t the best fighter like his sister but could still hold up his own. He could breathe ice and cold like the majestic ice dragons that he loved the most, he could also bend his body like his sister but unlike her, he could shrink himself were as Phoenix could only grow, (they would both later develop shape shifting powers) and he as well could turn himself ghost like Phoenix. But the one thing that they didn’t share might have been what started everything. Marco could grow things and make things live again just by thinking about them, he could turn the smallest sapling into a giant tree and bring back flowers that were brown and withered to brilliant colours. For this Marco was always the favorite child, because he could perform this miracle of nature. This of course bothered Phoenix because in case you didn’t know if you’ve ever met a wandering underworld soul they love being the center of attention and you could almost double that urge in Phoenix.
The Beginning
Marco and Phoenix. They were polar opposites literally; a shy young boy who was always the center of attention and, a bold young girl, that always wanted to be was the center of attention. Marco would grow flowers in everyone’s awe, but then phoenix would pretend to hick-up and burn them all out. Phoenix would grow leathery wings out of her back that were three times as big as she was, but no one would notice because they would be looking at Marco’s feather covered, bronze coloured wings that caught the sun’s rays and made then glow like diamonds. Phoenix had to admit that she liked her brother but was always jealous, no one ever noticed her, asked her for favors like they did Marco, her parents tried to help her but would only make it worst.
“Phoenix, could you come and burn this patch of grass for Marco so he can grow more flowers?” “Phoenix dear would you go and help your father get the leaves of the roof, Marco’s afraid of heights.” “Phoenix would you run down to the store and get some picture frames, I want to take pictures of Marco’s flowers this year.”
But one day when she had turned 10 they hit the final spot, right where it hurt the most,
“Oh Phoenix why can’t you be more like your brother, he’s so kind, and well to face it you’re not entirely the nicest person around, it’s probably that porcupine that you always hang around with, isn’t it! He’s a bad influence”
“Mother, stop there, if you haven’t noticed you’re not one to be talking you never pay attention to me! I’m going crazy, trying to get you to listen to me! And by the way, if you haven’t noticed” she paused and fluttered her eyes “I WAS DESIGNED TO BE MEAN!!”
“Oh your such a stubborn girl aren’t you” she sighed and sat down “You torture your brother, you burn his flowers, you call him names, you barely listen to me and your father, and somehow your still around, what’s keeping you around,” she looked at her daughter, a young teen now, with so much passion and fight and well a couple other things, spunk, just to wrap it all up. But she was putting everyone they knew in danger, with her being there. “I think it’s time for you to leave” she said doubtfully.
Phoenix was heartbroken, everyone she ever cared about, didn’t want her around. But she knew what she had to do.
“Fine I’ll leave, but this won’t be the last time you see me.” She ran up to her room and grabbed the picture of her family, her favorite teddy bear, changed her cloths so now she was wearing gray and black shoes she had stolen from her father’s work, short gray jean shorts with a belt made of snake skin that her best friend, Dusk, the porcupine her mother was talking about earlier had given her for her last birthday, a grey tube top a necklace with the word “Devil” carved into a rock then was carved into the shape of a heart, also from Dusk, and finally the grey long sleeved cloak her mother had made her when she was seven, with gold buttons and even though now it only fell down to a little below her knees, it would keep her warm.
And finally the one thing she treasured more than anything the dragon tooth, pulled from a dragon in a fight that allowed her to travel in between the living and the living dead that she ruled, also what gave her the power to bring life back to the dead, like she had with Dusk. But she hadn’t told anyone for that would more than likely have the tooth stolen from her because it was too dangerous. With that she stomped down the stairs past her mother and father without stopping and out the front door and slammed it behind her.
“Hey, what’s wrong sis?” Marco had been sitting in the tree outside of their house.
“I’m leaving, forever” she turned around to look at him, his stupid smile and all “But it won’t be the last time you see me!” she turned around and kept walking
“But then we won’t be able to celebrate our birthday together,” he walked behind her “By the way I like your new outfit” just because he was supposed to be nice to everyone.
“If you didn’t realize I don’t really celebrate, this year no one noticed that it was my birthday too” she twirled around “and thank you, maybe you should upgrade too”
“Where will you go?” he did a little hop step as they came to the edge of the cursed forest, his ears went flat to his head, the one place his powers didn’t work but the place where his sisters were the strongest, also were Dusk lived, in an old tree house covered in thorn vines. He had gone with her one time to meet him, they got along ok but he could tell Dusk was the perfect counterpart for Phoenix.
“Well first I’m going to see Dusk, and then…well I don’t know, anywhere the wind takes me.” With that she turned and put a hand on Marco’s shoulder, “keep being good ok?” she always treated him like he was younger and looked up to her, which he had to do now since her new shoes gave her another inch on him.
“I’ll miss you, goddess of the underworld” he hugged her
Phoenix taken back by the gesture stood there stunned for a moment but then wrapped her arms around him.
“I guess I’ll miss you too, god of the over world” she backed away and kissed him on the forehead. Then turned and walked into the woods.
They say that sometimes, one more moment is all that’s needed. If Marco had had the moment he probably would have fallowed her into the wood to say he loved her, just to her here say something else. But his mind was made up, if Phoenix was leaving, then he would leave too. Another thing they say is that,” you know I’ll always be there for you, we’re related by blood and I’ll fallow you to the ends of the world to do so.” This is something that Marco wouldn’t be doing.
Marco ran into the house and upstairs to his room, he thought of all the things Phoenix had ever told him and the way that she like to bend words.
“The key to my heart is always by my light side” she would tell him, he however knew this one, on her night stand was a lamp, and sewn into the skin of that lamp was a silver key with the word “Angel” carved into it. He knew he’d be taking that with him.
She also said “something I love is always under the place you spend most” which was a scarf she had made for him when they were younger because she said that his cold breath gave her head aches. Marco honestly didn’t see the difference, he could still breathe ice but he didn’t tell Phoenix that for the next thing she might do was breathe fire down his trough.
Marco pulled his hair into a pony tail, the way he always liked it. Stumble pulled on a pair of shorts and pulled an ammo belt through the loops strapped a gun holster to his left side and slide one of his favorite guns into it, even if you’re good you have to have a dark side, right? He took off his normal gloves and put on the new pair one of the elders hade made for him, with openings for his fingers and an angel halo stained onto each side. He tied the scarf around his neck that was made of the same fabric as Phoenix’s cloak pulled on a grey shirt that she had picked out for him with a leather jacket that, apparently, didn’t make him look like a pansy. Which made no cents; he didn’t look like a flower. Phoenix just didn’t make any cents sometimes. He shrugged on the jacket and walked over to Phoenix’s room and pulled the lamp shade off and ripped the seam that was holding the key in place, she wouldn’t care anymore, right? Luckily it was tied to a string and hung around his neck easily.
He ambled down the stairs and grabbed a duplicate to the photo Phoenix had taken; luckily she had taught him how to be sticky fingered. He walked over to his mom and kissed her on the cheek he had to reach up which reminded him to change him shoes, he walked to the door and kicked then off trading for a metallic silver pair that his dad had brought home once and only fit him now.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Alley poked her head around the doorway.
“I’m leaving” he said confused “Like Phoenix, going to explore the world”
“What! You don’t have to go, only her, aren’t you glad that she’s gone?” Alley would never understand the strange way Marco worked.
“No, I’m not glad she’s gone, in fact I’m kind of disappointed that you kicked your own daughter out without a good reason” he frowned, “Tell Dad I love him,” he opened the door and just like that he was free. Like Phoenix, no responsibility, and no rules to bound him *go to the garden and grow the vegetables,* *go and make the fruit ripen on the trees* *make the flowers bloom again* right now he could have peace and quiet.
The Awakening
When the twin left each other they didn’t know that they would disturb a thousand year old monster that would eventually ruin the world as they knew it. Thorn, A dragon with a bad attitude trapped in ice was now thawed out and was gathering dragons for his army in order to attack the world that once disserted him in his time of need. His first targets, ever god and goddess he could get his claws on, the one’s that trapped him in there for so long.
. . .
“Hey Dusk!” Phoenix yelled up into the tree house.
“Huh, of Phoenix! Come on up” he hung his head out of the tree house. With that Phoenix pulled out her wings and flew up.
“I have some pressing matters to tend to and I know that you can do what needs to be done” she smiled as she landed in the house that they had built together, that was full of stuffed animals missing limbs and eyes and ears, ones that were practically just a pile of stuffing and some that were brand new that she had brought him from the town on the other side of the forest.
“And what would that be my little rose.” Even thought he was only two years older he really treated her like royalty, maybe that was because he was her right hand man in the underworld, like her he could travel in between the two world too.
“I got kicked out of my house and I’m leaving, for a long time” she sat on the edge of a table full of button eyes and arms ready to be sewn back onto the animals. “And I know that there is really no reason for you to leave with me because anytime I need you I can call you from the underworld so…” she held out her teddy bear to him “will you take care of Percival for me?”
“I would be honored to do so…sorry to hear you got kicked out of you house.” He went to one of his cabinets and opened the door “good-bye kiss?”
“For you or Percival,” she joked knowing that he meant Percival, she laughed. The only person in the world that could make her do so was Dusk.
“Well maybe both…?” he asked shyly
“Ok” she kissed Percival on the head and put him in the cabinet. She knew that he’d be safe here, anyone else with a right mind wouldn’t come within’ twenty miles of this place.
Dusk pointed to his cheek and made a kissing face at her, which she met, lip on. Lips to lips they stood for a moment in the thought that Phoenix was leaving and they might not see each other in the flesh again. Phoenix pulled away and closed the cabinet door.
“Rawr” Dusk stared at her as she sat on the window sill.
“Thanks, I try.” She smiled evilly which wasn’t hard for her. “Bye Dusk, Bye Percival.” She waved at the cabinet and with that Dusk winked and the toys that were still in one piece or had been stitched back together came to life.
“Bye Phoenix, happy travails” A white bear on the table, Ginger, she’d met her before one of Dusks favorites stood up of her hind legs and waved awkwardly. And with that Phoenix fell out of the window and plummeted for a second and then as Dusk came to the window she snapped out her wings and rose over the tree house and then the tallest tree tops and into the open sky.
. . .
Marco didn’t know why he wanted to leave like Phoenix but he knew it was something that would have to be done. He looked up and saw Babylonian kids flying through the sky’s the one thing he envied more than even about his sister is that she had learned to fly with her wings, while he sat in the garden and watched her wheel around the sky’s with any one and anything that could fly.
This was close to the first thing that he wanted to do while he was free. Learn to fly, but first thing first, even if Phoenix didn’t think she was going to need someone to travel with, he knew that he would, so off he set to the village. He knew that any of the mothers he had ever gardened for would love for their child to travel with him but he needed someone not affected by the soft life of a villager. Someone who already knew how to live by themselves, that didn’t know yet that he could grow almost everything that they would need. Something, but he didn’t know what was telling him to go to the outskirts of the town were all the merchants had their trinket stands and all of the farmers sold fruit in the mornings and there was always leftovers from the morning that the orphan groups always robed off of them when they packed up.
He found himself walking down an alley way it way getting late so the farmer would be packing up and the gangs would be out looking for whatever food they could find for each other. The orphan groups of down town were quite secretive but you could always be found this time of night. Ether fighting with each other over carts to steal from or just bickering about trading foods, even though there weren’t any animal specific groups each was run always by a certain animal, like the most famous Draco’s. And they were only famous because they were the ones that landed themselves in jail most often, they were always run by rabbits, and the red jackets, the ones who always stained their hair or quills with tomato paste and juice and they would always steel the food of the carts while they were unpacking, they were only ever run by wolves.
All of a sudden two cats and a bat dropped off the roof of a building. They looked really mad.
“What are you doing here? You know that it’s dangerous to be out here this early” the bat stopped “wait you’re not from around here are you, and you look too good to be an orphan, get him boys” at that the two cats started to advance and with that a bird girl and boy dropped from the roof
“Hey guys what’s the deal picking on the new kid” the boy bird came over and leaned on Marco’s shoulder
“Get out of my way B.K. This is not your problem” the bat moved forward on the girl bird “so sweet thing what you doing with this bag of scum.” He circled around the back of her and licked his fangs “things are so much better for Draco’s.” he came and looked her in the eyes “or maybe I could have a little snack first, ha I hear the birds are the best around this time of year.”
“Well apparently it takes one to know one Jess. And I’m perfectly fine with the group now thank you very much, and um I hear from the spiders that bats taste really good with day old oranges.” She paused and looked back at Marco who was messing with his gun which she spotted immediately.
“Awww Jane look who got a voice.” He smiled and walked back to his landing spot and braced himself for a fight.
B.K. looked over at the two cats one was already limping and bleeding, and the other was missing half an ear. Marco wished that one day he could wear scars of war as proudly as any warrior ever could. Marco could see that the girl bird was missing a lot of feathers from the back of her head and was bleeding. He fumbled with his gun but didn’t want to shoot in case it drew attention to the gathering.
“So bat” B.K said “You ready to go or do you need an escort”
“Oh that’s how it is ok bird” and with that B.K. leaped over the girl and grappled with the bat while the girl rammed the cats head on.
And with that the fight began Marco had never been so confused in his life everyone was fighting fist were flying and they were all trying to be as quiet as possible so they wouldn’t be noticed but he guessed that no one would care much if they killed each other. All of a sudden the girl went flying backward and slammed against the wall, she didn’t get up.
“M.J.!” the bird yelled and then looked at Marco who had pulled the gun out of the holster and put his hands up.
“What’s the mat…” the bat stopped and looked down the barrel of the gun. “Whoa cool down buddy, we uh…”
“Get out of here now. Before I rethink myself, and misjudge your worth.” He pulled the bullets into the chamber and they clicked into place. The cat’s quiqly climbed up the walls of the house and skittered across the roof.
“This isn’t the last fight Bird, Draco’s will rule all” and with that the leathery wings flapped up to the roof and disappeared.
Marco popped the loaded shot into the sky and pushed it back into the holster and rushed over to the girl.
“Is she going to be ok?” Marco looked over at B.K. worried.
“Yeah she’ll be ok when she comes too, hey thanks a lot for the help there I thought you were just going to stand there and do nothing, but then it was like BAM!! And there was a gun, and well I guess what I’m trying to say is,” he paused and put out his hand “I’m Bucky Kiwi, but everyone calls me B.K.”
“Marco, thanks,” he shook his hand, “so you live around here with her. You want some help getting her back, you look a little out of breath?”
“Yeah.” He looked down at Marco who was kneeling next to M.K. “Yeah I would like that. It’s this way”
Marco picked up the girl and fallowed B.K. around the back alleys, arriving at a cluster of old wood crates which in turn multiple Mobians and Babylonians creped out from behind, mostly camoflaushed by the sunset because they were all dark blues and oranges and purples, with black clothing, which he hadn’t noticed till then but B.K. was a deep blue and light blue mixing and M.J. was orange and light orange with black cloths a ripped remains of a T-shirt and black and green bellbottom jeans. An older boy came out and looked at M.K. and made a gesture to Marco that he wanted to take her, he handed her to him and fallowed B.K. to a group of young orphans who threw them each and orange which they dug into happily.
“So Marco what brings you to this part of town anyways?” B.K. mumbled out threw the orange in his mouth.
“I was actually looking for a traveling partner or two; I’m going around the world you know, see what’s really out there. You up for an adventure?” He looked wide eyed at B.K.
“Well I’m willing to try anything once, on one thing M.K. can come with us.” M.K. walked in behind him and whacked him on the back of the head.
“What are you planning now without me?”
“Marco here wants to know if well travel with him, you up for an adventure?”
“I don’t think we’ve officially met, Missouri Jane. But everyone just called me M.J. And yes I would love to travel with you.” She jumped up on top of a crate and pointed into the distance, “I’m always up for a good adventure and a change of scenery. Let’s go before anyone see’s us.” She crept around the corner and waved to the two boys to come.
The two of them tip toed around the corner and off into the night. Once they were out of the town the two birds broke into a run and spread their wings and took off into the sky, and since they were out of town Marco grew his wings out and flapped them a little trying to mimic the birds movements and the one’s he’d seen Phoenix use, The birds were amazed at Marco’s skill and could tell that this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
The Awakening
Six years past before they saw each other again. Phoenix was now at the head of an elite gang of Mobians and Babylonians that are determined to dance in the most remote places possible, and that night they were going for the top of castle acorn. And Marco, B.K. and M.J. where having dinner there that night with the queen to discuss their establishment that grew the majority of the food for the castle.
Phoenix was standing at the door disguised as one of the guard that she and one of her comrades had taken out and were waiting for the rest of the team. (They had disguised themselves by shifting into the other Mobians appearances)
Marco was taking a seat beside the queen and M.J. was on his other side.
“Thank you again for inviting us to dinner tonight you majesty” Marco nodded to B.K. and M.J. and they nodded to the queen.
“Oh please Marco it’s my pleasure to have someone of your static here.” She smiled widely as her husband walked in and sat down beside her.
All of a sudden alarms rang and two guards entered the room. “Your majesty a rogue group has gained entrance to the castle and is on their way up to the roof. Not sure of what there business is but guards have been sent to intersect then in the stairs.” The one guard paused and put his hand to his ear “we have ah, just received a message that they took out all of the guards but they sounded like they were warming up too, um sing…” and with that everyone got up and headed to the roof the way Phoenix wasn’t taking.
Phoenix pulled in her wings and started warming up like the rest were doing quietly.
“*What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller, doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone*” She looked back as Payge the younger girl sang the next verse.
“*what doesn’t kill you make’s a fighter, footsteps even lighter*”
Another song started and this time everyone sang alone as they stepped out onto the roof and Payge pulled out there portable video camera that they used when they did big jobs like this.
“*But I still wake up I still see your ghost but lord I’m still not sure what I stand for, what do I stand for? What do I stand for? Most nights I don’t know anymore.”
One of the bigger guys came up behind Phoenix and whispered in her ear. She immediately crushed her body flat and creped along the wall of the hall and herd voices one that sounded familiar. She shifter into the guard echidna she was before and run down the stairs, that’s when she saw him.
“Um. You majesty there is really no need for you to go up there we have the situation under control and, agh!” she stopped as the king grabbed her by the throat.
“Who are you?! Imposter! Dwayne can’t talk.” He pushed against her throat. And with that she changed back to look like her normal self.
Marco stumbled backwards as the king dropped the goddess.
“It’s been a while brother” She walked around Marco as the two birds got into fighting position “Looks like you got yourself a body guard and a girlfriend.” She smiled
“There not bodyguards, but yes she is my girlfriend, I never thought you would go so low as to break into a castle though with a bunch of...”
“Low lives? Outcasts? Rogues? Orphans? Who all share the same passion, I mean listen to them, they’re beautiful together their voices blend together. They dance’s complement each other, they all just want to do something they can all do together” she looked into his eyes as her’s started watering.
“Ow, save the waterworks I know there fake”
“Ok fine at least come up and listen to them but just sit by the door and don’t make any noise.” She darted back up the stairwell and stopped by the door and waved at them to come up and sit which they did. She whispered back to the big guy and he smiled and twirled her around on her tiptoes and picked her up and walked to the side of the roof, she climbed up onto his shoulders and stood up. Other Rogues came to the side and kept singing as she joined in and snapped out her wings.
“*starships were meant to fly, hands up and touch the sky, can’t stop cause were so high let’s do this one more time.*” and with that she launched off his shoulders and plummeted like she had that night out of Dusks window, diving towards the ground with several birds on each flank, she was the last one to pull up only meters from the crowd that had gathered outside.
By the time they got back to the roof they were on a different song and the guys and some of the girls were rapping wildly, she crept back down to the stairs and waved for the small crowd to fallow her.
“Well there good,” the queen said
“How far did you fall?” M.J. asked
“Five meters above the ground, roughly. Now Marco we have just about had enough of this for today the younger ones are already sitting down and slowing down and we still have to get back to where we were. And…” she stopped as Payge walked up behind her and pulled on her cloak.
“Why are you talking to those people that you said we were trying to stay away from?”
“Awww Payge, this is my brother remember I showed you the picture? ‘Cept now he’s all bigger, don’t tell anyone I was talking to him though, ok? Now fly back up there and sing your heart out ok?”
“M, Kay. Don’t worry I won’t tell anyone” and with that she spread her arms that turned into wings and flew up the stairs.
“Sweet kid really, now I need you guys to start making a who’ll lot of noise so we don’t have to carry the little one’s back, I’ll be in town later this week talk to you later ok?” she ran up the stairs and started yelling at everyone to take flight.
With that they all stomped up the stairs and watched as arms turned to wings and wings spread from backs and some just started to jump off the building and glide. Phoenix had tagged a girl on the back and pointed out of town and she took off at supersonic speeds, Phoenix kept pointing and waited till almost everyone was gone and then turned around and waved at Marco and started flying again grabbing a small boy from a mother who way already carrying a girl.
“So that was your sister, fine girl you know, she hooked up with anyone?” B.K. leaned on Marco’s shoulder.
“That’s one girl that is way out of your league buddy, and even if you had a type she wouldn’t be it…and as far as I know yeah she does have a boyfriend, lives in a tree house with a bunch of dolls that he can make come to life, has a button for an eye, just the normal things my sis appreciates in a guy.” He smiled, “Should we go back inside?”
. . .
It had taken him six year but his army was finally complete. His revenge was going to be sweet starting with the highest councils most prized works there gods and goddesses from around the world. Some were easy, the goddess of love, the god of peace, the god of friendship. But this wouldn’t last for long he knew and the council were getting ready to attack.
Cries of revenge
Marco was downtown the day after that looking through all the merchants’ things. The council had come to him in a dream last night and said that a horrible evil was rising and was set on taking out all of the gods and goddess. They said that Phoenix would meet him downtown with some other gods and goddesses. That’s when the little bird girl from the mob came and tapped him on the back.
“Hello mister Phoenix’s brother.” She smiled beamingly
“What are you doing here Payge?” he picked her up and she squealed excitedly.
“Well they said all the gods and goddesses would be gathering.” He turned around to see Phoenix walking up behind them with three others. “You happen to be holding the goddess of youth” she turned around to face the other three. “And this is Olive the goddess of rhythm, Dallas the god of creativity, and Locke the god of spirit, also all members of the mob.” Dallas and Locke walked over to Marco and leaned on each shoulder.
“Aye mate we be taking’ this out with the trash” Locke said with a downunda accent.
“Partner this going to be ‘mazing” Dallas said with a country accent on the other shoulder.
“Ow would you two leave to poor thing alone” what sounded like Phoenix but was actually Olive.
“Don’t worry Miss Olive he can take it, can’t you mister Phoenix’s brother?” Payge asked quietly still in Marco’s arms.
“Payge its Marco, Marco Phire, M.A.R.C.O.” phoenix pushed the two boys away and kissed Marco on the cheek.
“Ok so does anybody know what’s going on?’” Marco asked as he rubbed Phoenix’s kiss off.
Olive was the first one to answer.
“Well as we all know the higher council has come to every remaining god and goddess to inform them that a rogue group of Dragons are trying to pick us all of and they seem to all fallow under a certain leader that the council has some idea who it is. A Dragon that was locked away thousands of years ago has thawed out and wants revenge. We have had the idea that if we can…um…destroy the dragon known as Thorne, the rest will be freed from the trance that they seem to be under.” She said all in her normal voice. “This should throw off the dragon’s aura and once its spirits gone.” She paused as Dusk stepped out from behind a crate and hugged Phoenix around the waist, she looked pleasantly surprised. Olive changed to the voice of the queen she had no doubted heard the night before. “Dusk can trap the spirit in a doll and then we can put the doll in the underworld danger zone where it will never be disturbed”
“Well sounds good to me mate” Locke high fived Dusk. “Long time no see doll boy. So who’d you bring us this time?”
“Anyone who could keep up.” He smiled widely and pointed out of town. “There all out in the forest I shrunk then all down and there asleep”
“Well what are we waiting for?” Marco whistled loudly and B.K. and M.J. flew through the streets bobbing in and out of the Mobians. “B.K., M.J. gods and goddesses and gods and goddesses B.K. and M.J.” The two birds waved at the group. “Now let’s get this war started!” and with that Marco and Dusk were hoisted off the ground and they all flew to the forest.
The Scars of War
Thorn was sensing large amounts of magical movement. This could be only one thing, they were rising up, getting ready to attack, and here where lot’s more than he remembered, at least 50 maybe more where on their way to mystic island the place where he was lying in wait and his main control. Also the island that the gods and goddesses made shrines of each other and there greatest achievements, all of a sudden he picked up two large amounts, moving together, that could only be so of the strongest gods the god of the over world and the goddess of the underworld. He would have the pleasure of taking them out personally.
. . .
They all arrived on mystic island and stated there plan, everyone liked it, and they had informed a couple of friends, turns out all of the stuffed animals where life sized forms of tropical animals dragons and lizards, bears and well anything he had put back together and have it still look…well, lifelike.
“Your girl, she is like fine china man.” B.K. leaned over and whispered in Dusk’s ear.
“Phoenix, yeah she’s a real devil. But…she kisses like an angel” Dusk fell off into a day dream.
“Well, I just hope that one day I can meet a girl like that” he shook Dusk’s arm.
“Well, I’m hoping for you too buddy” Dusk slapped him on the back
Phoenix and Marco where sitting on the base of the statue of the god and goddess before them, the two that ruled half of everyone’s empires now.
“Do you think that one day…we will be remembered like this” Marco looked at the god a rabbit engulfed in war with the goddess who were both about to fall off a cliff face and the goddess couldn’t fly up because her arm was broken.
“I could say that satisfyingly yes we will I mean like these two with our other leaders in this war like. I don’t know generals, like this” She stood up and pulled out the sword that she was now sporting around her waist and pointed in at Marco.
“Eye, hold it there sis” Marco pulled his gun out and pointed at an invisible enemy.
“Well I guess we should get everyone mobile. Start kicking some bad guy butt!” She pushed her sword back into the holder. “What kind of dragons have you seen so far because I find it easier to shift into an animal that I have seen before.”
“I have seen every and all of them. And at least flown with half of them.”
“Oh yeah you did learned to fly over the years didn’t you?” She spread her wings and took off winding up the goddess flowing with the folds of her dress
“Should we go and rally the troops?” He in turn spread his wings and took off up the god and past Phoenix. He now knew why she loved to fly; it was the most amazing feeling in the world.
Phoenix whistled loudly as they flew over the crown of gods and goddesses, the ones that could fly flew up with them and the other ones ran along the ground. They knew where they were going now all that was left was to live up to what they were built for, to defend their honor and restore faith in themselves and the higher council. Now it was time to take action.
Battle Cries
This was it the moment they had all been waiting for storming the castle. And well speaking of castle, some of the mortals had come out and where willing to risk their lives for something that might have never made a difference. The mob was there too, willing to fallow there boss anywhere.
They all had their body armor fitted on Phoenix wiggled her helmet around. The same style that the goddess for Mystic Island was wearing with long horn styled face guards and a thick back that was sharped to points with holes through it so her quills stuck through and shoulder pads and leg guards.
Marco looked somewhat alike with shoulder and leg guards but his helmet was styled with sorted coloured metal his face guard came down over his forehead and onto his nose. He flew proudly beside his sister and the others that had planned together. He had only known these people for a couple of days but he felt like he would risk his life for anyone of them.
“Marco you’re pulling to the right, and your wings are folding. Are you still up to it?” Olive swooped down toward Marco. Her body was truly that of a goddess she was a snake but she had wings, beautiful full bronze-gold coloured wings and her scales where white black, and yellow.
“Yeah, I’m ok it’s just, I’m kind of nervous” He said shyly.
“Well don’t be, I’ll have you back, and I hate to brag but” she stopped and switched to Dallas’s voice “I’m one of the best fighters around partner.” She smiled widely.
“That makes me feel a lot better” he smiled back and the two of them banked to the left and sat up on the cliff that overlooked the canyon they were flying over.
. . .
Ah the silly little gods though they could stop me well there in for a surprise when the realize the canyon is lined with dragons. And they even brought along there silly mortal friends, don’t they know that dragons are the smartest things alive. What do they think they’re going to do, watch as I eat them all one by one and destroy their precious rulers. It will be a battle to remember, the one that the world was his! Finally the respect that he deserved after all of those years. It was finally time to take action, and with that he roared as loud as he could to make sure everyone head him and sent himself flying off the cliff. Right at the leader the goddess the only one that would count if he struck her right.
. . .
All of a sudden it started the air crew banked in all different ways soaring up and up until you could only see there outlines against the sun and then drove down as the ground team forced their rivals into flight. The dragons without wings ran across the ground and faced the queen’s army and the mob along with the gods and goddesses. There wasn’t one person there that thought they wouldn’t die, everyone fought for their lives god of not no one cared that they weren’t really the ones in danger but that’s what happens when a world comes together in battle. But sadly some had suffered more than others some would probably never walk by themselves again, and some would never see again because they had been scolded in the face with lava from the dragons but what happened next surprised everyone.
“Ow you two are just as weak as the gods before you” the dragon Thorn had Phoenix pinned under his paw.
“That’s what you think ugly!” And with that her body turned bright red to match the dragons and torn leathery wings twice the size of Thorn and her body twisted up with large horns and spikes twirled down her back. A portal from the underworld opened and scaly demons crawled out of the crack and started biting anything they could get there mouth around crawling up dragons and climbing in ears and mouths.
“Her sis need some help” Marco’s huge dragon body plummeted out of the sky and landed with an icy roar. His white and blue body gleaming like diamonds his wings where crystalized ice and the light shone right through them.
With that Thorn was attacked remorselessly fire and ice on each side he didn’t know where to turn first so he looked for the weak spot and went for it grabbing Marco’s left arm in his jaws and Marco lost feeling in the arm and shifted back to normal as his body was whipped across the canyon. Thorn licked his lips as something red fell out of his mouth and he stepped on it, Marco’s arm.
“Marco!!!!” Phoenix whipped around and clubbed Thorn with her tail. Marco was a mess his eye was ripped to shreds and well he was missing his right arm.
“Don’t worry mam’ just keep going we’ll take care of him” Locke picked up Marco unconscious and Dallas dropped down behind him.
“I got your back partner” Dallas pulled out a sword and held it in his mouth and winked at Phoenix.
“Thanks guys.” She twisted around to Thorn getting up and went right for his neck.
With that she turned around and rammed her teeth into Thorns neck and started twisting using all of her energy to drag the dragon to the ground, claws lashed out blindly at each other until then hit something and dug in. Teeth grabbed anything they could hold and tails beet on anything that came close. Finally with a bone crunching snap both dragons fell off of each other scrambling for anything to hold on to as a huge rip opened out at the bottom of the canyon and the underworld demons grabbed at Thorn and tried to pull him under.
“Think fast dragon!” Dusk yelled from the top of the canyon and tossed down a stuffed bear that latched onto where Phoenix had bit him around the throat, and tried to pull out the dragon’s spirit.
“You’ll have to try harder than, ahhh!” he was interrupted as he was engulfed in thorns as sharp as knifes slithered up his body and collapsed over his mouth.
“That’s what you get for ripping off my arm!” Marco shouted at the dragon. “And this,” he paused as the thorns slithered inside the wound on him neck “This, is for hurting my sister…” all of a sudden the thorns bust out threw his throat and the dragon went down and poofed into ashes as the teddy bear climbed out of the gash yelling and complaining in its own little language.
With that Phoenix collapsed back to her normal form, with battle scars running the whole length of her body. Her eye like Marco was cut right through the middle and ran down her throat and onto her chest. Dusk walked up behind the teddy and it collapsed into a pile of fuzz and unmoving fluff, he picked it up and handed it to Phoenix. She gladly sat up to face the crowd that was gathering of injured soldiers and gods and held up the bear with great joy, everyone started clapping.
There was a great celebration after, they all went back to mystic island and were greeted by the queen, who gladly thanked everyone for the bravery, and gave Marco and Phoenix there naming ceremony that they had never really had as young gods. They were now officially the god of the over world and the goddess of the underworld. And it was decided that all the gods and goddesses would be remembered it the way of the first, with monuments. The next day Phoenix and Marco got together for their memorial moment.
“You know Marco; I always thought you were better with your left hand anyways.” She smiled and pulled out her sword and held it up to and invisible enemy.
“Yeah I always thought I was too.” He smiled back and pulled out his dagger and pointed it at the ground as if aiming at something below him.
Thousands of cameras flashed at all different angles as they struck there poses for their statue. To symbolize the bond between kin that will always be, even it they are completely different, deep down they are truly the same.
“You know sis I’ve been thinking about going into status” he said walking away from the commotion
“You mean like frozen status? Why?”
“Just to be safe I mean what’s our purpose now just rule right? With that we don’t age a day and well I get to be in the over world. I mean you and Dusk can just float down there and it’s like, hey! We’re back! But for me I’ve never seen the place I rule.”
“I understand, and you know I think it might be a good idea. Don’t worry I’ll get everything figured out. But what about M.J. and B.K.?”
“You know how you could bring Dusk back to life? And don’t try and deny that you didn’t. But they have decided that they would go into status too, but you know, like the gods do. And then we can still be together.”
“Yeah that could work…well, I’m going to get this all figured out for us ok? And before the end of the week, I guarantee you will be seeing the over world.” She smiled and spread her wings.
Phoenix was always true to her word, there statue was built by the end of the week and she had made sure that there was a chamber underneath with three sarcophaguses and two open face coffins with glass tops, and with that the five were sealed away, together forever. Not many people know why they did it or even if it was true, but they did know one thing that you can like someone and you can love someone but the bond between a brother and a sister, well that’s something short of a miracle. And they knew this because, this was what was carved under the statue with the fire of an eastern dragon and permanently frozen by the ice of the most northern living ice dragon.
It is still said that you can see the spirits of the gods dance around there statues in the black of night and you can always see Phoenix and Marco, The twins in the glass coffins, sitting at the base of their statue with their friends and sometimes the other gods and goddesses. They dance around with the colours of the dragons spirit sparkling around them and then right before dawn Phoenix and Marco spread there wing and fly off towards the rising sun, no one knows where they go, but you can bet that there having and adventure of their own.
The end…or is it?
well I wanted to post one of my storys, hope you like it
The twins in the glass coffins
